6:00 PM - 8:00 PM - Come get in the spirit with us at Dramatics NYC - located at 23rd street. The zombieNYC crew will be transforming holiday carolers into zombies in the Dramatics salon. The only thing you need to bring to get zombified is a can of food for the food drive held by the salon. There will be snacks & refreshments provided courtesy of The Globe Bar and Grill. The Globe, which is conveniently located next door to Dramatics NYC, will also be holding drink specials for the festive undead later in the evening.
also - DRAMATICS NYC 23rd is hooking up an AWESOME deal for any zombies! 20% off anything through the end of January!
8:00 PM - 10:15 PM - Carol! We are going to start in front of manhattan mall. Then shamble around spreading holiday fear… er… cheer? there should be tons of people shopping, gasping, and what-not
10:30 PM - Whenever: Afterparty. Any suggestions as to where?
I will be tweeting updates as @actionvance, and tagging tweets with #zombienyc.
What: Christmas caroling with a bunch of zombies. You wont need talent. Just lungs. You don’t really need to sing either. Slurring / Garbling the words is totally appropriate, I mean, we are zombies, right? So, the idea is: get together, sing some Christmas carols, go from one popular tourist destination / shopping destination to another, and then end it all at a to be disclosed location for some undead drink specials.
Why: Xmas is DEAD. Dead as we are. Just like our brothers and sisters in dawn of the dead, we cant help but go to the same old shopping spots. Or… cause caroling is fun. being a zombie is fun. doing both should be funnerer!
Attire: Undead. Preferably in a santa, elf, or other holiday friendly attire. Don’t be nude.
Who: anyone with more than half a brain (hey, we gotta eat) and anyone else who can sing. We might send out quick IQ tests to see who actually has the pre-requisite half brain, so – watch it.
DO NOT SHOW UP DRUNK OR %$#@%’D UP. Get trashed at the after
Super quick 101 post :)
I use a Ben nye monster wheel for zombies. Around the eyes, I paint in a purple/red/grey combo. I then use a brush to draw shapes in the same color highlighting bone features, etc. then I blend.
I always start dark and apply a
Few highlights - staying away from much clown white.
Once this is done - use a setting powder.
Then - I use a stipple sponge around the eyes with a color for some texture.
Theeeeeeen I use a stipple sponge and a thick blood gel around the mouth or wherever I want.
Tips : that fresh scab stuff works well in hair as well — it matts it down to create almost a wound.
Tips: for more blood I’ve been going with kryolan. Ben nye mint flavored is great but the kryolan looks more convincing and lasts longer.

listverse has a nice piece up featuring the 10 most awesome / iconic Zombie depictions. Certainly some great choices here! Aside from Frankenstein’s monster (which one COULD argue FOR), I think they are all great. What do you see as missing from the list?
ZombieNYC member Pete G was featured in this NYCC coverage! Looking good, pete!
@ActionVance handled the makeup for this submission to the resident evil walk on role contest —- check it out!!!
If you subscribe to this Tumblr - you will hear about stuff as we plan it. The BETTER thing to do tho is to join our ZombieNYC facebook group, where we announce everything first!
Some weird swine flu bullshit was going around. Everyone around me had it so I started on Forsythia, which interacted with my NZT. Now, I’m a zombie. Shrug.
